Cinematik.doc is a competition of Slovak documentary feature films that premiered during the period of one year before the festival. The Literary Fund Cinematik.doc Award, endowed by a financial bonus of €1,000, is awarded at the proposal of the international jury of the IFF Cinematik together with the Literary Fund for Best Director of a Slovak documentary film.

There will be nine films featured in the competition this year, one of which—Never Happened—will be premiered. All films show distinctive characters and strong stories. The Good Death presents a woman who decided for voluntary assisted dying, Lost Home follows two Slovak paramedics in the city of Mosul, Never Happened tells a story of Oskar Fegyveres, Rober Remiaš and Peter Toth, BATAstories depicts the birth of an international Bata Empire. Swedes from the Slum—a film about Roma children who were adopted into Sweden—and Jan and Martina convey a strong social message. On the other hand, Tereza – the Charge of Love—the portrayal of a well known Slovak translator—and The Calling—a film about the life in the monastery—present more intimate stories. And the selection is completed by the television portrait of an important composer Svetozár Stračina.
