Grain of Life

Verona Hollá

Grain of Life is a poetic documentary about a woman’s transformation into a mother, interwoven with the wheat’s cycle of growth. A spring of new life, a summer of first touch, and an autumn of playful childhood are bound by a loaf of bread the filmmaker bakes with her son. The film reveals the challenges of motherhood—the sense of losing both personal and creative identity. A mosaic of images and the director’s inner voice asks: Is it possible to create when a mother is born?
