Cinema ClubInspired by true events, the story follows a loving father. His life falls apart after a single tragic mistake shatters his happy marriage and leaves him completely alone. Despite the threat of prison and unbearable guilt, he tries to regain his wife’s trust and save the love that still binds them despite the pain. When he discovers that the true origin of the tragedy lies deep in the architecture of the human mind, a fragile path to reconciliation begins to emerge. But can their love survive such a huge failure? The film Father is unique in its treatment. Similar to the recent Netflix hit Adolescence, it is shot in just a few very long takes. Director Tereza Nvotová explains: “For me, the language of film is just as important as the story itself. I wanted to create something like a video game, but in completely different conditions that lead us deeper into our own inner selves. My goal was for the viewer to fully connect with the main character and ask themselves the same questions he does.”
