House of ArtsEster has just turned 45 and has nothing in her life except for caring for her severely mentally disabled son, David (15). David can’t speak and needs constant attention. Ester loves him deeply, but she’s drained by routine and coping alone. Friends in Italy invite her for a visit, but they find that David’s unpredictable behavior causes problems. They ask them to stay in a caravan in the garden. For Ester, it’s the final straw. She doesn’t want to feel like a burden anymore. When the night comes, she starts the caravan up and takes off. On their life-changing journey across Italy, and thanks to the people they meet, especially Zuza (29), their fun-loving companion and David’s first love, Ester realizes she can be more than just a mother and can live a different life. At least for a short while.
