Boiling Shapes

Samuel Škrabálek

Boiling Shapes is a surreal story about innocence, corruption, and the search for a lost identity. The chronology of events is disrupted to deepen the tension and mysticism. The film is presented in a square format to achieve a claustrophobic effect and an unconventional visual style. The image tries to balance between bright, vivid colors and strong black shadows in an attempt to communicate both the absurdity and gravity of the plot. The film was made using traditional digital hand-drawn animation. Several types of software were used during the production, especially Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects.
