Radioactive

Marjane Satrapi

An unbelievable but real story of a woman, mother, wife and scientist—Marie Curie-Sklodowska. In the poor conditions of a wooden shed with the roof full of holes, ostentatiously called a laboratory, she endures fumes and radiation, which she doesn’t protect herself from. She spends hours here, stirring a boiling mass with an iron rod to get a decigram of pure radium. Success comes in 1902. With this discovery of radium, she will change the world of science forever.
