Chatila and Reda are Palestinian friends who fled the Ain el-Helweh camp in Lebanon and ended up as refugees in Athens. They dream of getting to Germany—a country where they hope to build a new life—but to do so, they need to raise a large sum of money to buy stolen passports. When Reda loses their hard-earned money due to his dangerous drug addiction, Chatila, in desperation, comes up with an extreme plan: to pose as smugglers and kidnap hostages—all in an effort to escape their hopeless situation before it’s too late.
