Beautiful Beings

Nordic cinema will be represented in the Paths of Glory section by Beautiful Beings. Icelandic director Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson captures the story of Balli, a teenage outsider who finds his missing support in a group of equal outcasts. The film impressed with its raw poetics at the Berlinale, where it won the Label Europa Cinemas award in addition to critical acclaim. Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson’s second film tells, with poetic sensitivity and rawness, of relationships that can last forever and help shape us in the most important moments, and of the cruelty and tenderness born on the magical border between childhood and adulthood.
