Rebuilding

Max Walker-Silverman

After cowboy Dusty loses his old family ranch in a forest fire, he finds himself in a small FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) camp in the vast American West. As the last in a long line of ranchers, he is caught between his land inheritance and the changes that have taken place on it. However, he begins to reconnect with his young daughter Callie Rose and his ex-wife Ruby, and eventually with a neighborhood he did not choose—a world of people who have lost their homes just like him. Together, they build unexpected friendships and perhaps even hope, beauty, and a future. All gradually and from the ground up. One of the most emotional film experiences of the year definitely belongs on the big screen at the House of Arts.
