House of ArtsDoes the title intrigue you? Let yourself be drawn into this original black comedy, drama, and precise social satire. The world of the main character, Linda, is gradually falling apart—she is troubled by her child’s strange illness, her husband’s long absence, and increasingly problematic meetings with her therapist. In the second feature film by director and screenwriter Mary Bronstein, we watch as everyday events turn into an unsolvable tangle of problems. A house affected by repairs to a collapsed ceiling becomes a metaphor for the never-ending crises of everyday life. Rose Byrne gives an extremely authentic and emotional performance in the lead role, for which she won the Silver Bear at the Berlinale.
