It Was Just an Accident

One night, a seemingly insignificant event takes place, but it fatefully connects two men: former political prisoner Vahid and a stranger, whom Vahid gradually recognizes as his former torturer. Although he has never seen his face, the rhythm of his footsteps and the distinctive sound of his prosthesis lead him to a terrifying realization. But can he really be sure? Without much preparation, Vahid embarks on a bizarre mission that reunites his fellow prisoners—people scarred by oppression and violence. Together, they face a question that has troubled generations of oppressed people: can an individual who was merely an instrument of an inhuman system be avenged? Renowned Iranian director Jafar Panahi presents a work inspired by his own prison experiences.
