The Sailor

Sailor Paul Johnson sailed the world all his life. He lived wildly, got drunk, made love and never settled on land. Now he is eighty and neither he nor his ship are fit to set sail anymore. While he drinks a litre of vodka every day, he contemplates life and death. Solitude seems to be the goal of his journey. The Sailor is a film about the relationship between freedom and selfishness. In it, the director searches for an answer to a universal question: Do fulfilled dreams always have such a bitter taste at their end?
