Fontána CinemaThe most successful conspiracy operation of the Czechoslovak State Security (ŠtB) between 1948 and 1953 took place in Bratislava. Under the name OPERATION MONACO, the Prague leadership of the secret police, led by Soviet advisers, carried out the operation against the local French consulate. It ended with the execution of two Czechoslovak citizens and the imprisonment of others.
