Les Misérables

Stéphane has recently joined the Anti-Crime Brigade of Montfermeil in the suburbs of Paris, where he observes the growing tension between neighbouring gangs. The film, inspired by the riots in 2005, is set in present-day Montfermeil, where the famous Les Misérables from 1862 took place. 150 years later, the similarity between today’s angry youth wearing hoodies and Gavroche, the main character of Les Misérables, is obvious.
