Blending family history with fiction, this fascinating film follows a young woman Audrey and her effort to make sense of poems written by her great-grandmother Zofia Bohdanowiczowa. Uncovering a series of letters between her ancestor and another poet in exile Józef Wittlin, she digs into an intimate past while facing her own existentially troubled present. Between silent segments of handling the letters at the archive and discursive monologues that articulate her findings, the film traces the emotional movement through the research process.
