Bisbee ‘17

Robert Greene

100 years after the incident in Bisbee, when its citizens violently rounded up and transported approximately 1,200 protesting miners—mostly immigrants—to the desert in New Mexico, a huge recreation of this tragedy is being prepared. This western documentary verging on performance art and activism observes the ability of people to cope with their dark past—their personal stories intertwine with high politics, an effort to justify the mass deportation faces the trauma of the close ones and the present ominously resembles the past.
