An Ordinary Country

Tomasz Wolski

The film, made only with archival materials of the secret service, shows us the life in socialist Poland through the eyes of secret agents. We can see images of spying and interrogations, hear recorded banal phone calls and reports, and from an instructional film we learn how to install surveillance devices in apartments. We usually have no idea who the person under surveillance is and what they have done wrong, we only examine in detail their behaviour, which may be ordinary or perhaps suspicious.
