Witchhammer

17th century. At a communion, beggar Maryna Schuch hides the host in the headscarf. Later, she confesses to Pastor Schmidt that she wanted to give the host to the midwife for her sick cow. The young pastor proclaims her a witch and convinces the Countess to send for the Inquisitor Boblig of Edelstadt. The offer provides an untrained lawyer with a great opportunity.
