Bankrupt comedian Arthur Fleck has long walked a fine line between reality and madness. One day, he is roaming the streets of Gotham City in his clown suit, getting into conflict with brutal thieves. Slowly, a spiral of events unfolds that escalates to terrifying proportions. The abandoned Fleck begins to descend further and further into the depths of madness, gradually transforming into the iconic criminal that the world will soon know as the Joker.
