The Beguiled

The American Civil War rages behind the walls of an isolated girls’ school, but the students and the teachers manage to ignore the ongoing conflict until somebody knocks on their door. In an act of Christian charity, they start to take of a heavily wounded enemy officer, John McBurney, and plan to hand him over to “their” troops as a war captive as soon as he gets better. Little by little John starts to manipulate the young students headed by beautiful Alicia, teacher Edwin as well as the headmaster. However, John doesn’t realize he is in the middle of a battlefield that is far more dreadful and destructive than the war behind the school walls.
