The Hunt and Normalization are winners at Cinematik

The main prizes of the Cinematik IFF go to Thomas Vinterberg’s The Hunt as the best European film of the year and Robert Kirchhoff’s Normalization as the best Slovak documentary.

The Hunt, a story about how the life of a man changes after he is wrongfully accused of pedophilia, was awarded Meeting Point Europe Award and also Audience Award.

Cinematik.doc Award goes to Normalization, an 8-years-long investigation of famous murder case by the director.

Award of the Mayor of the Town of Piešťany goes to Slovak documentary New Life of Family Album. Film’s director Adam Oľha tries to figure out what changed in his family after his father had left.

At the Opening Ceremony British director Ben Wheatley received the Respect Award on the occasion of retrospective of his films at Cinematik.
