Cinematik & documentary films: Young & Politics

DoCma: Young & Politics section brings four documentaries about young people whose interest in politics broke out into ambition of changing it.

Ameer, an Israeli citizen and a Muslim Arab, is such a man. Naomi Levari’s Ameer Got His Gun follows him and his effort to join Israeli Army which doesn’t want him because of his religion. Ameer believes that this is the way to equality.

Punk in Africa by Keith Jones and Deon Maas is about underground music in South Africa. In this country rock music has been connected with opposition to the racism and apartheid since 70s.

After he had found a way how to visit North Korea and shoot a film about it, Mads Brügger went to Central African Republic. In The Ambassador he literally buys a diplomatic title and examines the relationship between politicians and diamond hustlers from the first hand.
