COMPETITIVE SECTION MEETING POINT EUROPE

Under the auspices of the International Federation of the Film Critics FIPRESCI
The competitive section is a profiling part of each and every film festival. Cinematik comes with a unique and original concept of the main competition. In the main competition, named MEETING POINT EUROPE, we screen a collection of the best European films, made in 2011 and 2012, which resulted from the voting of young European film critics.
It is an original concept of a competitive section, since films which have got into the final selection have been chosen by a panel of young film critics from 17 European countries (this year it was Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Hungary, Italy, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Turkey). The final selection of chosen films reflect the subjective view of young European film critics on European cinema, and at the same time takes into consideration the current trends of their national cinemas and international ones as well. The only relevant criteria are artistic quality and the strength of personal auteur expression.
Young film critics made their own, personal “best of” of European films made in 2011 and 2012. During the voting, each film was assigned points by film critics. The best films that came out of voting will be screened at the festival within the competitive section MEETING POINT EUROPE. The film which got the most points will be at the end of the festival announced as a winning film and awarded the main prize of the festival, the MEETING POINT EUROPE Award.
The following young film critics have taken part in the voting:
